Beautiful piano, soulful power pop vocals, lush strings, and a hefty dose of radio-ready potency unite on Los Angeles based Willodean‘s newest single Everyone.

I am immediately a fan and have repeated this beautiful single several times. It might help that Randy Wooten (a member of Willodean) also writes and composes with another favorite act of mine, The Gin Pennies.

Life & Limbo, the latest EP, is the third in a series of four EP releases from Willodean this year. Life & Limbo has been said to be the summer’s breakup album for the modern introvert. Based on this single (Everyone) I think we’re off to a great start. You can listen to the full EP on Spotify.

This refreshing blend of sounds from Willodean are a result of the diverse musical backgrounds of each member. Abbie Huxley is the Southern Roots founded frontman. Randy Wooten is the intelligent, prolific and powerfully pop appealing songwriter. Producer and bass player Eric Holden throws in his indie rock edge.

This amalgamation of genres bakes itself into a tasty layer cake of very distinct flavors that are familiar and classic but still attract our modern senses.
