The Glorious Veins Bang Their Savage Beat

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman February 18, 2013 11:03 pm Tagged With: Blues, New York, Punk, Rock, United States

The Glorious Veins - Savage Beat

The Glorious Veins are an explosion of bluesy punk rock guaranteed to throw you out of your seat and into a subconscious air guitar jam.

They describe themselves like this:

“Bluesy post punk dance rock from Mars”

I say….yes!!

From the moment you push play, you are thrown into a mosh pit of good ole fashioned rock and roll being clobbered by amazing, bluesy guitar tones and in your face punk attitude.

The Glorious Veins  are based in New York City and over the past few years have toured through 25+ states including stops at SXSW and the Vans Warped Tour.

Referencing our ongoing conversation about Crowdfunding, this band used Kickstarter to raise funds for the recording and release of Savage Beat. They reached their goal in 2 weeks!

The veins feeding creative blood to this band include singer/songwriter Paul Pangman, British born Matt Howels on guitar back-up vocals, and Phillipines native Wiggy Colmenares on drums and back-up vocals.

My favorite aspect of this album (outside the awesome music) is the fact it was recorded on 2″ analog tape at Brooklyn’s Galuminum Foil Studios. Jeff Berner is responsible for engineering recording of the album.

This music will make you grab your air guitar…then in middle of jamming out you will drop your instrument and start dancing.

It’s just that good.
