You might remember our review of Morning Fame’s previous release, Back and Forth.

This crew of fine musicians have returned with their new single and video for Cast Away.

The first major change is Dan Carrett on bass.

The second thing I immediately noticed was more grrrrrr…. Grittier bass tones backed by the beautiful pounding of those drums give this band a more macho sound than I remember on Back and Forth.

It also seems the band is louder than ever. Possibly a change in direction in their mixing and production decisions but whatever they are doing different… I love it.

The past 8 months have treated these guys well. In my previous review I stated:

Morning Fame exhibits a chemistry that guarantees their music will take them places. This band has the potential to be bigger than most of the competition.

They are definitely 8 months closer to reaching that potential. I can’t wait to hear the new album.
