Walking away from a promising career in engineering, Matt Westin found his true voice through the creative outlets of music and acting. Raised in a blue collar family in Pittsburgh, Westin has always pursued passions whether it be sports, academics or the arts. Fueled by the thrill of live performance, the tragic death of his father was the catalyst that drove Matt to fully pursue a full time career in music.

In honor of his father, Matt set out to create a country record that would make his dad proud. After being introduced to producer/songwriter/musician Bryan Cole, it was time to bring Matt’s passion, talent and vision into full alignment. With Cole steering the ship from his producer’s chair, Doug Kasper’s recording and mixing skills were tapped into while tracking at Tonic Recording Studios. In addition to these talents, musicians Mike Brignardello (Big & Rich, Blake Shelton), Steve Hinson (Dolly Parton, Luke Bryan), and Adam Ernst contributed their high calibre musicianship to Matt’s songs.

A result of these creators collaborating is the radio ready, country rockin’ single Our Redneck of the Woods.

Packed with top notch talent, memorable melodies, a catchy hook, sweet sounding steel guitar, deliciously distorted electrics and a whole lot of passion and soul, Our Redneck of the Woods is an anthemic track which fuels the spirit by reminding us all the great aspects of country livin’.
