La Catrin Releases Humans Are My Keyboards

Humans Are My Keyboards by La Catrin

La Catrin has one hell of a story.

First off, Humans Are My Keyboards is La Catrin’s debut but she is not a new comer to the music game.

Before venturing off on her own to self-finance and create this first solo album, Bianca Montalvo was a member of Heist At Hand.

As a part of this band Bianca appeared on the Vans Warped Tour, CMJ Festival, and opened up for acts such as Portugal The Man, The Photo Atlas, Receiving End of Sirens, From First To Last, Chiodos, and From Autumn to Ashes.

But something was missing.

Four years ago she walked away from a promising career with Heist At Hand. She became a cocktail waitress in a gentlemen’s club. This experience had a profound effect on Bianca and ultimately led to the beginning of La Catrin.

“You throw a bunch of money in a room full of girls and there is a real interesting power exchange. I watched ultra feminine and ultra masculine people go at war with each other. It was enthralling. I named the record after it, everyone was playing each other,” La Catrin explains.

See, La Catrin is a twist on the Mexican mythical literary character known as El Catrin. By switching from the masculine ‘El’ to the feminine ‘La’, she references the feminine/masculine energy balance found throughout her music.

Humans Are My Keyboards is seductive, enchanting, and will make your spine tingle.

La Catrin establishes herself a goth pop princess with obvious influences from Evanescence, Depeche Mode, and the one and only Lady Gaga. Prepare to enter into a gothic, dark wave trance.

For production assistance, she enlisted the help of Bob Hoag. Bob has worked with The Ataris, The Format, Dear and the Headlights, and La Catrin’s previous band Heist At Hand.

This work of art was recorded at Flying Blanket Studios in Phoenix, Arizona…an all analog studio. Groovy!

Her single ‘Break You’ has been licensed for use in the movie Hated. This flick was written by Maria Lorenzo and is based on her experience working with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Plot to Blow Up The Eiffel Tower.

Now would be the time you go grab your copy.
