Interview with Radar vs Wolf – MusicTree Fest 2014 #MTF14

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman April 21, 2014 9:28 am Tagged With: Rock

MusicTree Fest will be taking place in Manchester, Tennessee – June 6-7, 9-10. We will be publishing interviews with the performing bands as we close in on the 3rd year of this festival. View the full line-up.

Radar vs WolfLet’s start with the basics, who are you? Where are you from? What style of music do you create?

We’re Radar vs Wolf and we’re based out of Nashville, TN. We refer to what we do as “songs”. That’s really where all the focus is. The vibe comes later, but it starts with melody. And yes, they tend to take on a rock n roll vibe

This is MusicTree Fest’s 3rd year. Is this your first time? If yes, how did you learn about MusicTree?

This is our first MusicTree Fest! We heard about it from other local Nashville bands.

Was there an “ah-ha moment” in your life when you knew you would pursue music?

For all of us it was definitely the moment we picked up our first instruments.

Who (or what) motivates and inspires your writing and playing style(s)?

Some of our biggest influences are The Beatles; Punk Rock like NoFx, Propagandhi, Operation Ivy; Weezer; Matt Pond; and Jesse Lacey

What can we expect from your performance at MusicTree Fest 2014?

Expect a high level of energy!

Where can we connect with you online? Where can we listen or download your music?

Our website is radarvswolf.com and we’re on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as radarvswolf. Our latest album is on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Spotify, SoundCloud, and Band Camp.

Do you have plans for Bonnaroo this year?

We’ll be there!

Any closing thoughts? Shout outs?

End the drug war. End war. End elections. No more politicians, please.

Shout outs to our people at Students for Liberty, Students for Sensible Drug Policy, and the Bleeding Heart Libertarians!
