by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman April 13, 2017 10:41 am Tagged With: Country

Richard Lynch-American Proud

We recently featured Richard Lynch’s newest single Cut And Paste. Find that article here.

In this interview spotlight, we catch up with Richard to discuss what’s been going on since his last release and to talk about the new one.

Stream Cut And Paste below. Full Q&A follows.

How have things been going for you Richard? Any news since the last time you graced the pages of our blog?

Things are going great, we have released our 3rd studio album Mending Fences that I am really proud of. The production of this album is fantastic and the songs are traditional country with all the new production tools applied to it. We have also been extremely busy touring and playing our music all over the country

How is this new release different than previous one? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?

This album has 2 songs that I wrote or co-wrote, also a wonderful duet with Rhonda Vincent. This album has a different style from the previous album with all the songs have an unique sound to each song. There are several different writers on the other songs and all the songs are unique

How do you feel about streaming services? Any romantic attachments to the physical formats: vinyl, 8-track, cassettes, CDs?

I have always loved the vinyl 45s and 33 1/3s and they have a great sound, fun to listen to. The cassettes didnt always hold up. The Cds are the most versatile and used the most these days. I dont use the streaming services, as I do not listen to music on the internet setting

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
