Hiding In Public Show Their Inner Anarchist In True British Pop Rock Fashion

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman January 28, 2013 12:33 pm Tagged With: adult contemporary

Hiding in Public - Inner Anarchist cover

Hiding In Public arrive with their feel-good, British pop-rock vibes to deliver Inner Anarchist.

This album goes beyond songwriting into what I would classify as songcrafting. Reading into their bio it is easy to find why this music is so good.

From their bio:

The band features the soulful singing and tasteful guitar work of Jamie Moses. Jamie has been hiding in plain sight for years as one of the UK’s top sidemen having toured with Queen + Paul Rodgers, Mike & the Mechanics, and most recently Tom Jones. When not standing on stage at events such as the Queen’s Jubilee or Nelson Mandela’s 46664 concerts, he is Hiding in Public with veteran collaborators David Holland, Kevin Poree and John Tonks.

After Today (video)

The band headed to Berry Street Studios in London to put together, what I consider, the best feeling lyrical assault on our current status as a society – and all aspects of it.

While discussing less than feel good topics, Hiding In Public manages to make you feel great while singing about them.

Think Dire Straits meeting up with The Eagles to conspire a peaceful coup with the likes of Phil Collins, Sting, and James Taylor.

Inner Anarchist is a collection of beautifully crafted songs that appeals, not only to the older generation, but to the younger fans who enjoy a true pop sound.

Look at this list of Awards and Recognition:

  • 1st Prize in the International Songwriting Competition (2008)
  • Finalist in the Brit Writers’ Awards (2011)
  • Finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest (2009 & 2011)
  • Finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition (2006)
  • Honorable mention in Music Connection Top New Music Critiques of 2011

Radio play in the USA, Brazil, South Africa, Australia and UK including live unplugged performances on BBC Radio. Suh-weet!
