Derek Lee Goodreid Packs A Blues-Infused Rockabilly Punch on New Album God, The Devil and I

Derek Lee Goodreid-God TheDevil and I

Australia native, Norway based singer/songwriter Derek Lee Goodreid delivers a raw, organic, blues-infused, rockabilly wall of sound on his new album God, The Devil and I.

Combining elements of rockabilly, blues, folk and country music styles into a potent sonic package, Derek’s years of experience as a song crafter and musician culminate into a fine display of consistent, seasoned, storytelling-fueled songwriting. If you can imagine Johnny Cash, Ryan Adams and the Brian Setzer Orchestra in the studio together, you might be able to imagine the sounds emanating from God, The Devil and I.

Energetic frequencies, upbeat rhythms, sweet sounding guitar tones and a healthy dose of roots rockin’ attitude are at the forefront but that doesn’t mean Derek isn’t able to mellow out and slow it down to give listeners a quick breather in between the more intense jams.

Songs God, The Devil and I and Sweet Devil Below are perfect displays and appropriate opening tracks which set us up for the Americana influenced grooves that will have you lighting up the dance floor…or your carpet depending on where you’re listening. Tracks like I Kissed The Devil and My Majestic Mountain show off Derek’s ability to calm it down without sacrificing any of the in-your-face rockabilly attitude that makes this record great.

If you need a rockabilly fix or an energy booster, Derek Lee Goodreid has the sonic goods!

God, The Devil and I is available on Spotify or Bandcamp.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
