Dan Reardon Asks, Can You Hear Me Now?

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman October 24, 2012 11:42 am Tagged With: Acoustic, Pop, Rock

Can You Hear Me Now by Dan Reardon

I really dig Dave Matthews Band and I love some James Taylor, so when I started listening to Can You Hear Me Now? by Dan Reardon…

My answer is a resounding Yes! I hear you loud and clear, Dan.

If you have ever heard of the pop rock band Soundside, Dan Reardon was there. With Soundside, Dan recorded 5 records (1 in Spanish) and played over 400 shows opening for acts such as Berlin, Days of the New, The Tubes, and the New York Dolls.

Dan has also had the pleasure of working with producer Adam Lawson (Paramore, Panic at the Disco) and Scott Culver, video director for groups Hellogoodbye and Yellowcard.

Now, Dan Reardon sails on the infamous Interscope roster as well as juggling 4 non-exclusive publishing deals. You will probably be hearing Dan’s music in films and TV shows really soon.

Can You Hear Me Now? is a 5 song “mini-album” that follows a trajectory of love, loss, and personal triumph.

Right now my favorite track is Home but they all stand on their own. Dan Reardon knows how to write great songs, folks.

Go grab your copy and support independent music. (The last track is a beautiful rendition of “Human Nature” by Michael Jackson.)

I think one of the more amazing aspects of this album is the fact Dan was pushed for time in the studio. This led him to record the 5 songs in 4 days. Reardon wrote every song, played every instrument (except drums and cello), and co-produced the record with Angus Cooke (Ataris, Bad Astronaut, Jack Johnson).

Niiiiiiice!

Taking all of this into consideration, one cannot deny this album is a true reflection of Dan Reardon.
