The Whiskey Riders Southern Cuts – the sounds of Kentuckiana

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman February 20, 2015 3:20 pm Tagged With: Bluegrass, Blues, Rock, southern rock

The Whiskey Riders We’re cruising through the back roads in a place near the beauty of Kentucky and Indiana…the locals have been said to call it Kentuckiana.

The Whiskey Riders Southern Cuts blast from the speakers. “We’re runnin’ from the law” in a place where a Woman’s Like A Bottle…

…with her skin smooth as glass, and her spirit on the inside got my blood pumpin’ fast, and I said oooooooooo she’s better than the last”. Tweet this.

“I’m the whiskey and she’s the wine” and everything’s going to be fine. The Whiskey Riders have served up a top shelf selection of the backwoods’ finest tunes. Potent like well crafted moonshine, allow this piece of Southern-Blues’grass-Rock to carry you to a good ‘ole fashioned, foot-stompin’, knee-slappin’ time.

With a DIY attitude that many a band should learn from, The Whiskey Riders have been traveling on their musical voyage for a collective 30+ years.

Southern Cuts is the soul of Kentuckiana captured in 5 songs of passionate and calming yet fierce and in-your-face bluegrass. With an injection or raw, uncut southern rock these fellas know how to kick up some dirt and throw down on their respective instruments.

After releasing Here to Burn in 2013, the crew felt like they were just warming up. Once you hear Southern Cuts you’ll wish they had given us more than 5 songs.
