The brainchild of Matt Andrews and Cassidi Spurlock, Dig On This! is a production team based in Nashville that has been in the works since 2012. It began with a sample library of horn parts and turned into a project that brings together the players of yesterday and today, making new music with a little help from the past.

Featuring an undeniably funky rhythm section, solos and stabs by the Memphis Horns, and the syncopated vocals of Cassidi Spurlock, this project fuses classic soul with modern hip-hop. Throw in Motown legend Jack Ashford on the tambourine, just to make it interesting.

Greasy bass lines and clever lyrics evoke the image of a busy New York street corner on a warm summer night, the harmonies and horn swells rising like steam from the sidewalks. An abundance of funky percussion, slick organ parts, and soulful guitar licks marry the sound of Al Green and Ann Peebles with A Tribe Called Quest and Lauryn Hill.
